About Me

Hi there!

I’m Deniz and studying at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. I’m substantially adventurous, outgoing and a lover of acquiring new experiences. From time to time I feel like my life becomes monotonous, and this situation arouses me about the desire inside me to leave the place I live. For those reasons, I really like to travel to new countries and dive into various cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the last decade, I have had the chance to visit more than 15 countries. Those experiences lead me to decide whether I’m a tourist or a traveler, and I decided that I’m definitely a traveler. Thus, I prefer local and cultural elements instead of touristic ones.

Couchsurfing is by far the best platform to exchange cultures and make new local friends all around the world. That's why I'm really excited and happy to use Couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've never been a big fan of a singer, director, or an author. That's the reason why I don't have any favorites of those art branches, but I usually like to hear vocal jazz, electroswing, and techno; I usually like to watch comedy, or action movies; I usually like to read books that make me think...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a Round-the-World tour (planned for 1 year) and then deciding to turn back after 10 days. Ask me face to face if you wanna hear the details :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have left a big blank for this question before, but after I stayed with a couple of hosts, I've learned that the passion inside me about teaching my culture leads sharing a lot of things. This interaction makes me feel more and more excited everyday.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fun motorbike ride, a small couch, some homemade food :), good memories, and a friendship.
