About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currently exploring London -- just got done with Prague!
ABOUT ME
Scholar, writer, reader -- that's basically me. I'm more interested in thinking about things such as philosophy and literature than anything else. The most exciting thing about me, I guess, is that I am going to London and Prague this summer. It's my first chance to see my gf (a Czech girl who lives in London) in three months, and I literally can't wait -- I've never been abroad before!
The tricky part is that this trip abroad is coinciding with my move from Ohio to Tennessee as I enroll into a Ph.D. program down there. I'm having a horrible time finding horrible housing that began their leases before August 23rd, so I'm giving this a try again. I'm getting down to Murfreesboro on August 7th.
PHILOSOPHY
Maybe a bit much to put in this teeny tiny little box. .. . but my studies are increasingly engrossed in the study of classical literature and the history of ancient civilizations, if that tells you anything. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only done this once before, back in 2006, and the situation was exactly -- I was enrolling in grad school at Ohio State, and I had to be in town 3 days before my apartment was ready. A wonderful woman hosted me for the time, and I'm hoping for something that works out just as well again.
Interests

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movie: Lawrence of Arabia.
Favorite authors: Mary Renault, stephen R. Donaldson, Glen Cook, Ursual Le Guin, Harlan ellison, John Steinbeck, Mika Waltari, E. M. Forster, . . . and I'm considering adding Richard Russo and Rebecca Goldstein to this list. :)
I actually don't listen to much music, but I guess you can't go wrong with the 80s. ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most interesting thing: probably going to London this summer.
I've always gone hiking in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, and I've taken a Greyhound to dozens of places all over the country -- from New York to Florida to San Francisco.
Teach, Learn, Share
Unfortunately, I'm really kind of boring. . . unless you happen to really like literature or ancient civilizations.
