I love traveling, and when I travel places I don't want to get the shitty tourist hotel experience, I want to meet people, connect with them, have some beers, enjoy life, and enjoy what these different places and cultures have to offer. Tourist attractions get old after a while, but the memories from encounters like this stay forever and you recall them years after the fact.

That's what couchsurfing lets me do. I've couchsurfed a bit now, not through the site, but with friends of friends, and it's an amazing experience.
