___________________________
I used to do some Warmshower (cyclists hosting cyclists).
Greatness of any travel is who you meet and how well you connect. That's why I like socializing and meeting new people.
I travel 6 to 9 months per year and normally stay in hostels, guesthouses, stay with warmshower hosts, go camping or rent small hotel rooms. I typically stay 1 or 2 nights at the same place, then move on.
Je suis écrivain (thrillers paranormaux) publié en France, Belgique, Suisse, Canada, etc. Je voyage pour l'inspiration et rencontrer des gens. Je suis marié, mais je voyage principalement seul car je dispose de beaucoup de temps.
PHILOSOPHY
Life moves on so quickly... I travel to slow it down and meet people to build great memories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy the hosting/hosted part of CS, but really like very much the activities organized by locals. Made some good friends in those parties/meetings.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My couchsurfing experiences are mainly through a similar concept : Warmshowers.org (where cyclists host cyclists). CS and WS are a great concept : those that we meet through our travels is what forge our memories.
In October 2012, I gave a presentation about Canada during a CS meeting in Guangzhou (China), with approx. 30 persons attending. Nice experience with great new friends.
Many CS meetings in China and Vietnam - always great moments.
Interests
Making friends, bicycling (I like bicycle-camping whenever possible - over 5000 Km in summer 2012), swimming, reading, (writing !), running, visiting...
Sports : I try jogging everyday (it's a nice way to have a first glimpse of a new city), snowboarding, cross-country skiing, trekking. I cannot imagine not doing sports.
Faire des rencontres, vélo (la majorité du temps en cyclo-tourisme cet été avec plus de 5000 Km au compteur), natation, lire, écrire, course, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read everything, every style, everyday. I would rather re-read the same book than go through a bad one.
My ultimate novel ? Replay, by Ken Grimwood : After dying, a man wakes up 20 years in his past, knowing what is to come. Brillantly written.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bough a used one-speed bicycle in VIETNAM Saigon for 45$ and did 2500 Km to Hanoi and then Halong bay - direction China border. Close to one month - best bicycle trip of my life.
Sold the bicycle for $20 in Hanoi : turned out to cost me 1 cent per Km !
Teach, Learn, Share
Writing is for me an on-going discovery of who we are.
I am always willing to share the huge task of how to write a novel, and also to learn about other's passions.
I always try to attend Language Exchange Meetings. Like to share my knowledge of English and French and learn the local language.
In 2013 : got to improve my mandarin (wish me luck : I am quite slow...)
Voyages, aventures, exploration, créativité : des sujets qui me passionnent.
