ABOUT ME

I am a chemical engineer graduated from the polytechnical university of Patras in western Greece. I am based in Athens where I grew up. I work for an american company, so I get to travel a lot to the US and I've also lived there for a few months assisting on some company projects.

As a character I believe I'm easy-going, extroverted & I love going to new places, meeting new people & discussing practically everything, from our everyday lives to political or environmental issues!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's not easy for me to host people in Athens, because I live with my flatmate and we don't have a spare room. But if you want to meet for a coffee or a drink, no problem! Provided that I'm in town of course...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I still haven't hosted or surfed CSers, but I've been out with CSers both from Greece and abroad & loved it!

Movies:
I enjoy documentaries, animation films, historical films, good comedies, mystery films, independent films... I also enjoy oldies, I've got absolutely no problem if they're black & white! In fact some of my favourites are in black & white.
Some of my favourites include:
To begin with, almost everything by Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Stanley Kubrick, Luis Buñuel, Ken Loach, Gus Van Sant and Francis Ford Coppola... Dead man, The take, The fountain, the Amici Miei trilogy, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou, Bagdad Cafe, Pulp Fiction, La haine, American history X, the Addams family movies, Issiz adam ("alone", a turkish independent film)...

Music:
I don't know where to start from... I listen to loads of music! Most kinds of metal and rock, blues, jazz, reggae, soundtracks...
favourite artists: Pink Floyd, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Arcturus, Ulver, Therion, Dead Can Dance, Running Wild, Voivod, In The Woods..., Can, Eloy,Genesis, Yes... and many many more!

Books:
Too many to mention... mainly theatrical plays, classic horror books, history, novels, poetry, sociological stuff, some popular science books, some sci-fi and fantasy novels, short stories...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to learn norwegian and russian on my own, I've downloaded a method & some audio dialogues, so any norwegians with enough patience are welcome :)

I'm also interested in making jewellery, mainly faux-bijoux and pendants/bracelets with semi-precious stones & silver, so i'm open to any advice!

As for teaching and sharing, I can help people learn greek, I can share my knowledge on music, cinema & anything else i'm (politely) asked to share!
