About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live, love, and explore the world

ABOUT ME

I try to make this as brief as possible:

I need a lot of sincerity to feel comfortable with somebody.

I'm generally a very happy person, but very often I am thoughtful, and some people mistake that, and think I'm sad. ;)

I care about others, and want them to care about others as well. Yet I have come to terms with the fact that this wish is pretty utopian, and that I probably will have to accept everybody how he is.

PHILOSOPHY

Is changing as I go. As I get to learn new things about the world and myself regularly, I have to adapt my way of thinking. But of course there are different maxims after which I try to live and act.

I care about the environment, and try to live and share a sustainable lifestyle. I try to be as free as possible (until borders of others are touched), and give others the chance to do as well.

I find most opinions I hear and read are simplified. People need something to hold on; easy truths. Whenever I find myself doing this, I try to diversify that idea. Its sometimes hard to live in a world where everything needs to be relativized, but its the only way if you want to get a little closer to the truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the idea of this project, and the substitution of common travelling. I traveled with cs in europe, canada, usa, and only had very good experiences. I already hosted a few times as well, and I also got to know wonderful people here.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOK

If I had to name only one in each section, it would be:

Proust, In Search of Lost Time.

(I never read anything that came close to the exactness of his expressions. I find this an unbelievably admirable, astonishing work)

MUSIC

changes every week. right now:

S-Type - Billboard

MOVIES

I like french films. A recent film I liked a lot was

"LOVE" (2012) by Michael Haneke.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A laughing child, a girl, in the north of Ghana, on the way from Kamale to Bimbilla, which I could not understand by language, but to whom I felt strangely more related, and closer than any mutually shared language could have made us understand each other. It made me realize, that it is not the language, that makes us unterstand each other in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I want to learn: how people feel. How life works. How beautiful the world is, when you look a little closer. And how my grandma made this tomato-potato-thing - a taste no meal could ever come near.

What I want to teach: I've been teaching others for too long in my life. Teaching doesn't work with me any more I think. Showing what you do, maybe does..

What I want to share: My happiness. My Sacher Torte. My thoughts maybe. The most precious I have: My time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
