My name is Derek, but hopefully you can read that at the top of the page... or "D" to family and friends. I am a total newbie to travel and I can't wait to get out and see the world!

Currently, my favorite country in the world is Norge, but maybe some of you lovely people can change that :) I'm open minded. I can and will talk about almost anything!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I first heard of Couchsurfing, I thought, "Great! I can travel for even less money than I thought!"

I know... I'm horrible.

BUT I have since realized how awesome the people in the community are from the lovely profiles. Now I can't wait to meet any of you! I'm in the process of moving out, so please do look me up when I can get my own place!

Interests

I have lots of interests, but the most important to me is travel. I can not get enough of the beautiful and diverse scenery found everywhere and on every continent! I love the outdoors and I'm a half-arsed photographer. (Sometimes I get so distracted by scenery I forget to document it. The pictures are mostly for myself anyway). When I ever get around to actually using Facebook, I do post some of my pictures on there.

Having moved around a lot as a child, I developed a sort of attention deficit disorder. I can never do one thing or stay in one place for long. All kinds of sports interest me, my favorite being Lacrosse. One of the best parts of moving a lot, though, is that I love to meet new people. Talking to most anyone comes pretty naturally to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I consider it amazing that as a semi-decent snowboarder, the only bone I have ever broken was on a bunny slope. Not a black diamond. Not a terrain park. The beginners slope.
