Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world, discovering truth from experience. I want to unfold and grow spiritually. I want to learn valuable skills, harness my gifts, and learn to love others better.

ABOUT ME

I am a bright-eyed, energetic and infinitely curious young man. Yet I am growing to discover that I am also an old soul who deeply enjoys sharing and learning about anything and everything that truly matters in this world.

I enjoy silence as much as I enjoy being subject to chaos. I am very comfortable in my presence and in the presence of others, but of course my parents raised me well and you can expect that I will respect your boundaries and your property with keen awareness.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the mind is simply a (very sophisticated) tool and not a place to invest all of my energy (only my time and energy). Instead I follow my emotions and my intuition, hoping to connect with my spirit as I journey through life. I believe that I operate in my highest capacity when my spirit, mind, and body have all been tended to as a sacred garden. I believe in radical expression, truth, tolerance, and self-reliance.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe it is my purpose to understand and improve this world from the ground up and to the best of my abilities.

I cultivate the skills that bring about positive changes in my immediate surroundings. I build with my bare hands. I draw and write, coalescing the movements within me inspired by the movement without.

I one day hope to be in a position to teach others in a profound way. I believe we should focus on education about this world and our potential to change it for the better, to recognize our connection to all life and the duty to serve (to love!) ourselves and each other.

Also I want to bring difficult and "taboo" subjects to the popular discourse so that they can be properly and rationally addressed; Then I believe we will be able to shift our collective focus to more important matters!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have known many couchsurfers in my time, and I've certainly crashed a couch or two in my time. Once I dropped in on my ex-girlfriend's parents with an hour's notice. It could have been very, very awkward, but they still love me and we had great talks about my life, her life, and what we ought to be doing. I also hosted a couchsurfer for nearly two months... that may have been a bit too long.

Interessi

I am focused these days on off-grid living, bus conversions, and music (improvisational, devotional, kirtan, jamming). I play the Harmonium, Ngoni, Native American flute, and drums.

Hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, yoga, skiing, as well as reading, writing, discussing, meditating drawing/studio art, and making sandwiches.

Almost always I am most interested in whatever new experience the present moment brings!

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

If you've seen the pictures or documentaries about these guys that climb large cranes or bridges and hang from them with one hand, I've done that. It's a unique feeling, certain to wake you up and assure you that you are very much alive. When I'm hanging there, I'm actually quite calm and there isn't an overwhelming adrenaline rush. My body actually feels weightless and my chest feels light and full of warmth. Doing something like that, flirting with death, makes it impossible to worry about the past or future or whether my hair looks nice or anything other than what I absolutely must hold onto, which is life and my love for it. It's very refreshing, but the adrenaline surges once I'm back on my feet and I get a bit shaky.
