I am a native of and currently live in Denver, CO, attending University of Denver's Lamont School of Music studying Cello Performance. I'm itching to get out, and travel satiates that nagging feeling while I'm completing my undergrad. I love how exploring opens your mind and perspectives, and doing so -- I feel -- is crucial in our globalizing world. I often go to new places in hopes of hearing some live music, so always open to your local suggestions. Side note: I actually decided to study music because it is a nonverbal means of communication between people!

I love to cook, and equally love to eat. Not really one for junk food, but I'm not perfect. Döner and other similar foods are often my weakness.

Logistically, I am respectful of personal space and am generally easy to live with. I'd love to share stories with strangers who generously open their doors to other strangers!

I'm so grateful to have recently discovered CouchSurfing from a friend. When exploring a new place, I particularly enjoy doing so with only myself. Anywhere I am in the world, I seek out opportunities to experience the local life. Making genuine connections is so much more valuable to me than emptying my bank accounts to pay for tourist traps. CouchSurfing offers an incredible means of getting to know people across the world, and facilitates (my) world travel in doing so.

Música, películas y libros

I will listen to/suffer/endure almost anything except modern Country music. For the most part, I listen to Techno (and more broadly music of the "underground electronic" sort) but also frequent artists ranging from Bonobo, Little Dragon, Kamasi Washington, Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Bon Iver, Daniel Avery, Oscar Pederson Trio, Donna Summer, Erykah Badu, Fela Kuti, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jamie xx, yaeji, Solange, Son Lux .... the list goes on. Did I say I was a music person already?

As for movies, Wes Anderson generally. I love anything which is meant to be creative more so than just a blockbuster.

My books recently have been all over the place. A few favorites are James Balwin's "Fire Next Time" and "Giovanni's Room", Vonnegut's "Bluebeard", Harry Potter. I sometimes challenge myself with Sartre's philosophy as well.

Good stories, drinks, food, company. I discovered the Latin roots of "hospitality" translate to "the love of strangers". I feel perpetually obligated to be hospitable wherever I go, so I am happy to share anything and everything to express my gratitude. I often show gratitude through food; in other words, I love to cook (and, of course, clean dishes). Still learning how (always open to pointers) and still love doing and sharing it with others.
