Being born and raised in the Pacific Northwest- I was very fortunate enough to grow up around people coming from many different social and cultural backgrounds. I believe that immersing and learning about different cultures broaden our minds and builds better understanding, being half Filipino and half Creole myself. The greater Seattle area was very diverse- from a young age being around people from so many different backgrounds sparked my interest to see and experience the world and the diverse people that inhabit it.

I put my dreams of wanting to travel and see the world aside to pursue my Biology degree at Seattle University in hopes of one day applying to medical school and fulfill my family's dream of me to become a doctor. Being a first gen American citizen and the first of my family to graduate from college, there was a lot of pressure put on me. I came to realize that I really wasn't fulfilling that dream for myself but for others. After graduating from Seattle University- I decided to hold off on applying to medical school in order to have a gap year. I worked as a research technician for a type 1 diabetes research lab based in Seattle. I did this in hopes it would help me further my passion to pursue a medical career, however I felt that I was stuck in a dead end path and not pursuing it wholeheartedly.

I have recently left Seattle and have moved to the Philippines to be with my partner who is also Fil-Am. Being over 6,000 miles away from what I know to a place that I know little of in hopes that I find what my passion and purpose will transpire to be.
