Overview
About Me
Well, when I was using this website initially, I didn't know that that would mark the beginning of about two and a half years of travelling now. I've done almost all of it in the US. I've lived in Alaska, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida. Of course I'm originally from California. Today, I am in Thailand though. I'm about to fly to Australia for a year on a work/holiday visa.
As for my personality, I might be your typical traveler somewhere between a hippy, a punk and your usual customer service representative... maybe. I don't think that's too far out. Anyways, I'll just keep on going and the 'personality' part will hopefully come out.
I'm doing all this travelling, because if I'm honest, it seems more productive than sticking around at home building an excessively habitual lifestyle. I'm inclined towards laziness if I'm overly comfortable.
I love moving around though. I see it as an opportunity to build a new life over and over again. I don't know why I like that. I'm not superstitious at all, but I guess my attitude falls in line with the whole Sagittarius description of people. The easiest way to describe it is, "point, shoot and go there. repeat."
I do think the Myers-Briggs personality test works pretty well. It labels me as an ESTP. And, the internet has a whole slew of ego boosting definitions for simplification. "Promoter" "The ultimate realist" and I like "Dynamic Mavericks". If you haven't heard of the test, you should look it up. It tells you all sorts of nifty things about yourself.
That seems good enough.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I use this site for the necessity of having a place to sleep.
I like this site, because I get to meet people who are, from my experience, interesting, enjoyable, compassionate and/or adventurous.
Interests
I like to experience new things. For instance, with food, I'll usually order stuff that I either don't know of or just can't remember the taste of. Thailand has been pretty cool. Some new experiences: Down hill mountain biking, rock climbing (on actual rock*), 'happy shakes', fish baths, and downright shitty accommodations (not actually fun). Oh, and I learned how to ride a motorized scooter/bike thing here. That's a ton of fun!
I also enjoy nature, but I prefer the physical aspect of it. I love to hike. I am less inclined to just sit next to a pretty lake. I'd still do it though.
I love food. I love to cook it and eat it and all that stuff.
I think I'm just interested in life in general though.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I watch a lot of movies... Some favorites: Donnie Darko, anything by Wes Anderson, South Korean crime dramas, yeah that's a genre.
Music: My main digs are Bluegrass, R&B, Country, Punk, and ya know, happy music.
Books: I mostly read non-fiction. I stick mostly to personal growth type stuff, because I think it's practical. Although, I'm reading a book on the decline of violence over the course of the history of mankind. It's pretty interesting, but it's a tome!! like a million pages long or something at least.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I surfed at night with a Rabbi and a Jewish man, both of whom I met earlier that day. It was during the algal bloom otherwise known as "Red Tide". It looked like we were riding on blue lightning. The bioluminescense of the algae trailed after my hands as I paddled. I also saw a dolphin riding along a wave. It looked like a bright spectre shooting through the water. The whole congregation under the rabbi watched us while we were out there. The experience was at one time funny, fun and incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think we teach and learn when we share.

Adventure?!
I can clean if you want that.
Presence if you're into that
But, yeah, previously, I've bought and cooked food for my hosts. I like doing that.
