My name is Derek, I have lived in Ottawa for the past few years. I originally moved here for school, and have slowly found some lovely folks that make the city a place that I am comfortable calling home for now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has connected me with some awesome people. CS events have made traveling to new cities a greater experience - locals and other travellers are the best for learning which places to visit (and not visit), the best restaurants, and getting invited to parties. On the other hand, surfing and hosting are much better for connecting and getting to know people on a more personal level.

Interests

Growing, sprouting, fermenting, cooking, and eating food; cycling; climbing; and yoga are the things that I like doing. If you wanna chat about sourdough bread, kombucha, other weird things growing in jars, get at me!
