About Me

I love new and old friends, I love to lough and visit new places.
I love spontainious visits (and visitors).
And I believe there is no better birthday present than a self-made individual birthday cake.
And I love soap-bubbles!
Right now, I´m living in Lithuania for two study semesters abrought. It´s great to meat a bunch of international people. Everyone coming from a different part of Europe or even from the world. Everyone could tell so different stories.
Last week I also discovered a hiking club at my university. It´s a great to meet locals and see more of lithuania than some most famous cities and the seaside. Of course Vilnius and Trakai, Nida and Drusininkai are grat places you should at least visit once in your life. But Lithuania has so muc more to be proud of. So from now on, I´ll spend a lot of time in the lithuanian nature, making bond-fires and getting to know lithuanian folk dances and songs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of accepting people you´ve never met before in your home. It´s the most intensive way to get to know new people. In the beginning I was rather sceptical. Couldn´t imagine that you could have a great time with totally strangers. But after my first Cousurfing experience, all my fears disappeared. In that time, I was sharing a flat in Ukraine with three other german girls and we were all new on Couchsurfing. We accepted to host five american girls, who were travelling around. And already after one evening, we were not strangers anymore. I understood that couchsurfing is not about acceptin strangers, it´s about meeting friends you´ve just never met before.
It´s great that everyone shares the same open-minded habit. I´ve never made some bad experiences with hosting or surfing. It´s always like coming home and discovering a new place not from the point of view from a tourist, but from the way locals look at it.

Interests

I love to travel and to live abrought.
I´m addicted to dancing. There is no other way to feel as free as while you are feeling the music in your whole body and express your feelings through dancing. I coud forget everything and everyone around me then and just feel the beat. I am dancing nearly all of my life. I started with some modern and jazz dance, the last six years I spent on training latin dances with my partner and going to competitions. Riht now I´m thinkin about trying ballett...
Also I believe, the best way to discover a new place is by bike. You are getting around much faster than on foot, but you´re still able to look around. And as I´m really bad in remembering directions or reading a map, I also enjoy that a bike helps you to be back on the right way sooner ;)
And I love breakfast. Its the best meal on the day! The longer, the better ;) I used to spent hours on sunday morning at my balcony, alone or with friends. Having a cup of coffee in the one hand and some fresh croissaints in the other, the world could not be better!
One other thing I love are mountains and hiking. I was lucky to live in germany for three years in the beautiful city of Freibur. It´s in the deep south of Germany. Next to the border of France. And in the middle of the black forest. Basicly, you could just start a hike just in front of your door. Unfortunately, in Lithuania they don´t have that much mountains. They just call every little hill a mountain. But instead they have thousands of lakes. And a lot of fields, cows and NOTHING. It´s also a reat feeling to take the train ust half an hour outside the city and find yourself in the middle of nowhere.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to teach three year old kids horrible self-made german songs about farm animals.
Drinking tea with old Ukrainian ladies.
After finishing school, I decided to sped one year in ukraine as a volunteer. Teaching kids in english and german, organizing social events and fundraising and working with elderly people, who where forced to work in germany during second world war. It was the best decision of my life to go there. I met a lot of wonderful people there and learned a lot. Mostly about myself. After that, I understood, that I would like to sudy something, where I would have the opportunity to help others in a effective way. And that´s how I ended up studying law. Now, after three years of studies, I often need to remind me why i´ve chosen that subject. It´s hard to think about life principles while being forced to study about a civil law case about some damaged furniture. But somewhere in my head, there is still the young girl with a lot of ideas in her head wanting to help people with less possibilities to fight for their rights. And I´m sure she will sucseed in the end ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some words in lithuanian. It´s a really hard langguage for me to learn. They have seven cases! But at least I try.... And it´s always a grat feelin if you could enter the market and buy a kilogramm of tomatoes without having to use some english words or hands and feet to explain your wishes.
And I could also teach you how to do a traditional German, vegetarian barbecue.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A self-cooked meal. I love to cook! I´m not good in following a recepy, but mostly my experiments are rather eatable. You should try...
Or whats about a private dancing lesson. I already tried my teaching skills with a lot of friends. And even my dad succeded in learning the Walz.
