About Me
Easy going Canadian who caught the travel bug!
I've been a mechanic for the last 6 years on everything from planes to transport trucks. Eventually I started getting tired of the same thing day after day and needed to spice it up a bit. That's when I decided to travel to Australia on a working holiday visa. So I worked hard, saved up, quit my job and hit the road. I did a tour through SE Asia which is now just about to wrap up after 2 months.
I'm on this trip to explore myself, explore new countries and cultures, meet people, make friends and learn new things. I'm also excited to try different jobs and try to figure out what really makes me tick.
I'm all around just a hard working and determined person who wants to find his place in the world. That starts with stepping outside your comfort zone and just diving into fears head first.
I don't do enough of it but I love going out for live music. Festivals are a must every summer though, basically what I would live for each year. I enjoy cooking, especially breakfast! I love trying new food and I live for coffee!!
My philosophies on life:
Kindness is a universal language
Everyone you meet; you met for a reason
Happiness comes from within, not without.
We are all one race: the human race
Can't wait to meet all the wonderful people out there!
Cheers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, learn about local culture, explore new places and just all around have an awesome adventure! The best travel stories I've ever heard are experiences with the locals.
I'm hoping to gain life experience from this trip so that when I return home I can pay it forward to other travellers starting out on their journeys.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like a little bit of every kind of music there is!
Not a huge book reader but I do like to read about perspective changing topics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quit my job to travel the world
Climbed the stairway to heaven (haiku stairs)
Travelled alone
Rode a motorbike through busy Danang streets in Vietnam
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to meet people from all over the world, talk and share stories and experiences. I'm never surprised when I find that we are all so similar in so many ways. Most of all kindness is universal, one main lesson you learn while travelling.
