I'm currently in my late thirties I spent my entire 20s living and working in London I've been staying in Edinburgh for the past 9 years now. My favourite pastime is reading, mainly history and biographies and hope to find a historic story to dramatise into a novel of my own. I love to travel and spend time in the outdoors in general. I really like to meet people from other countries and most of my good friends are foreign which is one of the reasons that I enjoy living in Edinburgh as there are so many people here from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meeting people from different countries I have a one bed flat near the city centre of Edinburgh and people are always very welcome to stay with me and it also gives me the opportunity to travel and meet local people from the places I visit. Very often one of the main reasons I can't travel is due to accommodation costs, joining C.S. will enable me to see so many other places. I had never been abroad before the age of 25 and from my first time travelling (to Gdansk in Poland) I absolutely loved it so now I want to see as many places I can, while I can before I settle down or become too old because life really is too short. I am very tolerant and open minded and always get along with people I meet, I get real pleasure from sharing anything I can with those around me and think joining this community is the perfect way to do all these things :-)

Interests

I love to read and learn new things I have an open and active mind. I like walking in beautiful peaceful places. I like participating in most sports especially football, golf, snooker and badminton. I also enjoy cooking and trying different food from other countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very wide taste in music but I mostly enjoy the rock, pop and reggae music from the 60s, 70s and 80s I couldn't really say which is my favourite I love so many different bands. I love reading especially ancient and obscure literature I love Plutarch, Thucydides, Arrian and I also have the entire collection of Patrick O'Brians Neapoleonic naval tales which are my favourite novels. My favourite movies are dark comedies like American Hustle and 7 psychopaths. I like most of Leonardo DiCaprios films I think he's a great actor he is up there with DiNiro, Pacino and Brando

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've always enjoyed welcoming people to my country and have often taken the time to show tourists around both in Edinburgh and London before I ever joined C.S. so anyone who wants to visit my my country will be made to feel most welcome in my flat. I don't have a spare bed yet but a couple would have my bed and at least two people could sleep on my couch and a mattress on the floor on my front room
