O mnie
Hi,
I'm Guilherme or just Gui, as my friends and family call me.
I've been living in Germany for the past 15 years, swapping between Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt. Been based in Berlin now since 2019.
I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and my roots are in three continents. I love music, singing, dancing, watching good movies, or just being with my family in Brazil or friends. I have the tendency of reading the same books a lot of times. I'm rather that guy with few, but very good friends.
I graduated in Urban Planning after being really disappointed with the level of eurocentrism and lack of self-critique in the Social Sciences in Germany. Lately, I've been involved with topics involving urban issues, racism, decoloniality, neuroscience...I believe in a world with more justice, solidarity and less comodification of our relations and the world surrounding us.
I'll probably end up living in an eco-village in the middle of nowhere with a lot of self-grown vegetables and a small animal sanctuary, but right now I think I'm still too much of an urban creature for that. I'm a passionate lobbyist for better cities for cyclists, pedestrians, people. I'm a bit indecisive, I dream a lot and I love meeting friendly, different, inspiring, conscious, engaged people and maybe that's probably why I'm still a member of this platform.
Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing
I got to know the project by chance, in Brazil, in 2008. Götz was the first Couchsurfer I've met, in the same year. I had the opportunity to host people in São Paulo, Berlin and I've been surfing many 'non-official' couches in São Paulo, Rio, Helsinki, Munich, Amsterdam, Cape Town, and also had the opportunity to surf lovely couches via this website in several different places.

Muzyka, filmy i książki
I listen to all this: last.fm/user/mahabharata;
"Central do Brasil" is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
I love Truffaut, David Lynch, Fatih Akin, Bergman, Wim Wenders, Truffaut, Kieslowski, Almodóvar, Haneke, Fellini, Wong Kar Wai - ok, I'm actually quite biased towards Western male directors here and should be changing this slowly.
Books: Clarice Lispector, Caio Fernando Abreu, Hesse, Antonio Bispo dos Santos, Fernando Pessoa, "Radical Intimacy", by Sophie K Rosa, Grada Kilomba
Czym mogę się podzielić z gospodarzami
Love, curiosity, solidarity, empathy and a healthy dosis of indecisiveness.
