About me - Hello travelers! My name is Desanka. Friends call me Des. Currently, I am advanced philosophy student at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. I do not travel much (but that is going to change this year) but I love to meet people from different countries and cultures, so we can exchange opinions, perspectives, experiences... I am never lonely and bored when I am alone, but I love having guests. I live with my boyfriend in a cute little flat in Belgrade.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said - I love having guests and meeting new people. If they are able and willing to have me as their guest - that is great. If not - that is still great.
I haven't been active here because I didn't have the internet in my previous flat.

Interests

My interests are many, and it is sometimes hard to work trough them and focus on one particular thing, but I usually find a way to connect most of my interests with the thing I am currently working on. I love philosophy, literature, and poetry, and I equally love music whether it is listening, reproducing or creating it... I love art in general. :) Anthropology, ethnology, history and different cultures and languages are also great fields of interest to me and I find intercultural interaction very interesting, but I also have a feeling we need more of it in this world - that is why I love to meet people from other parts of the world. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - psychedelic rock, jazz, rock, heavy metal, classical music, traditional music... I love good music. What I am listening at some moment - depends on the mood I'm in. As for everyone else, I guess.

Movies - Bergman, Jodorowsky, Lars von Trier, Aronofsky... and many more. Love movies that leave you thinking after you see them.

Books - Huxley, Hesse, Castaneda, Dostoevsky, Kafka, Marquis de Sade, Oscar Wilde, Timothy Leary, Orwell, Bulgakov, Marquez, Cortazar, Borges, Robert Graves, al-Qur'an... and many, many more.... I love to read. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can you define "amazing"? I find that people do small but amazing things every day. Smile at a child, stop random girl on the street to tell her she is pretty and brighten up her day, tell a friend when you miss him/her, tell your mum you love her without apparent reason or occasion, help elderly person carry the bags from the market, write a story, make a song, read poetry and drink wine with your very best friend while the sun rises, get naked and crazy when you're alone in the house and paint until the paper and your whole body is messed up with colors, take lemon or orange seed when you eat the fruit and put them into the pot - make them grow.... Those are things I find amazing and like to do anytime I can do them. :3

Teach, Learn, Share

If people truly connected more - the world would be a much better place. I love to learn and exchange experiences on everything - that's how you grow as a person. Anything I know and other person is willing to learn - I will do my best to share. I can also teach you to make some nice traditional meals, I love to cook.
