I am a 33 year old Vermonter who was bitten by the travel bug a few years ago. I work at a small 19 bed sub acute hospital in Southern VT. I have traveled all up and down the Eastern seaboard and a good junk of the US. In 2015 I spent 2 weeks in Italy and then Germany. I am looking to expand my view of the world while I am still young. A good friend of mine gave me a world map and every time you visit an area you scratch off that country to reveal it. My goal is to scratch the whole map, it may take me 30 years but that's what I am aiming for!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For many reasons. I am most days an introvert. However I am trying a new take on life. I am pushing myself to do things and see things and involve myself more with the world. Couchsurfing provides me an opportunity to immerse myself into an area. Staying with a local and making friends at the same time. Also contrary to some I am not independently wealthy and it also affords me a way to save some money while helping make some money for someone else.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge bookworm. I will read anything . Autobiography down to science fiction. I am currently working on a 150 classic book challenge. Reading and rereading all of the classics. I am only about 10 in since I started in the fall of 2016 but I am expanding my library while letting myself also read other books I enjoy at the same time. My music collection is just as eclectic. Classical to rock to broadway musicals. One of my favorite live bands to see is Clutch. Being a huge nerd I love science fiction movies and animated movies. I love the animated works of Hayao Miyazaki. I also have a soft spot for goofy movies made in the 80s.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being an introvert sometimes I shy away from doing things that would be labeled amazing. One thing that I've done that really was almost magical was swimming in the Bio-luminescent bay in Puerto Rico.
