Hi, I'm Des. I am a 37 year-old consulting professional who loves meeting new people and learning about different customs & cultures from around the world. My husband and I enjoy intellectually stimulating conversations evidenced by our desire to learn about anything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to hosting and/or surfing as my travel schedules permit. Going-out to the local museums is one of my favorite past-times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have friends who host in Austin, TX. Thus, I decided to join after they had several positive experiences. Last weekend we met an Aussie who was loads of fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music is a staple in my life, I attend as many music festivals in the area as possible. Most recently, Austin City Limits!!!! I love to read on communication and medicine/biology and watch "chick-flicks".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning that a language where ideas are openly accepted and considered begins with me...that blew my mind away!!!!

Wow, this is pressure at it's finest!!! Ummmm, my most recent knowledge nugget is from Genetics class: Sometimes spontaneous mutations result in positive evolution...kinda like in life, sometimes when things don't go according to plan we obtain better results.
