About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn as much as I can before I forget it all.

ABOUT ME

Life's been pretty good to me so far. I've had the opportunity to develop passions for music, writing, languages, travel, and people. I'm trying to use the freedom I have, as a young fellow abroad to see a bit of the world, play a bit of music and learn something about the places and people I meet.
I've been playing music in various capacities for 15 years and it's still my favorite pass time. I love conversation about pretty much anything (music, literature, film, and such things in particular), but I like trying to offer a perspective on any topic with anyone who's wanting to chat.
I'm a fairly mellow person. I can go out and party with as much gusto as the next guy, but not all the time, and I certainly don't need it to have a good time. I'm always up for something new.

PHILOSOPHY

"What is good? The obsessive interest in human affairs plus a certain amount of compassion and moral conviction, that first made the experience of living something that must be translated into pigment or music or bodily movement or poetry or prose or anything that's dynamic and expressive - that's what's good for you if you're at all serious in your aims...Purity of heart is the one success worth having. 'in the time of your life - live!'That time is short and it doesn't return again. It is slipping away while I write this and while yu read it, the momosyllable of the clock is Loss, loss, loss unless you devote your heart to its opposition." - Tennessee Williams

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I can only surf. If I were to stay on someone's couch I'd be happy to help out around the house, with whatever chore needed an extra pair of hands or just stay out of the way and be low impact if that's better. I'm no stranger to doing dishes, and while I'm not an expert cook I'd be excited to collaborate on cooking and contribute funds for groceries if need be. If I have a guitar I can play songs for anyone who wants to listen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm still new to Couchsurfing, but my experience as a surfer has been very positive so far. a lot of my friends have had great experiences. Actually some of my good friends now, I met because friends of mine met them via Couchsurfing and introduced us.

Worked as a journalist covering city politics in Portland, Oregon during the mayoral race and conducted multiple interviews with the candidates.
