I was born in a barn and raised on a farm in Coarsegold, California. Now am student from San Diego, California, who is here in Europe studying abroad. I major in Women's Studies at San Diego State University in California, and minor in Spanish and Child/family Development. I am currently living and studying in Barcelona, Spain and am traveling as much as possible while I am here. This is an amazing opportunity to see the world and gain more understanding of it. Every experience is enriching, and I am loving where I am at.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because as a student traveling in Europe I'd like to immerse myself in each culture as much as possible. Plus, I can't afford to stay in hostels every city I go. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet friends and learn about each other. I have had great experiences with Couchsurfing so far, and really look forward to new ones.

Interests

My interests include reading, writing, school, traveling, hiking, swimming, talking, and sight-seeing. Those are the main ones. My interests also very much include eating and watching movies. I love to travel, make new friends, and learn while also helping others and giving back along the way. My life goals include volunteer work and non-profit organization employment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love acoustic music. Seeing Iron & Wine in Barcelona was one of the best musical experiences of my life, and I really look forward to seeing as much live acoustic music as possible. I am a huge book fan, my favorites being Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Fault In Our Stars, and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. My favorite movies relate to the books I read, but I definitely must include Disney Classics to my list of top favorites. I hate scary movies. My number one movie is The Freedom Writers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing I've done which I would consider pretty amazing is hike into the middle Himalayas and stay with some indigenous people there. It was amazing to experience their way of life and feast my eyes on the beautiful landscape they live with. Their farming is incredible, and their way of life just so natural. It was my favorite part of my trip to India. I really would love to see something like that again. To add another great experience, I loved working with children in Pignon, Haiti. I spent a week their hosting a summer camp for children in the community. It was amazing to live with them and experience their passion and personality.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very friendly person with a big heart, and really would really just like to meet, learn and talk with you. I really feel like my host would have way more to offer me than I have for them, but I will do my best to reciprocate.
