About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm touring Maui setting up ecotours and gathering material for a screenplay. This is, for many reasons, my last Beatnik adventure.

ABOUT ME

Jack Kerouac once said, "You know, this is a really Beat Generation... More than mere weariness, it implies the feeling of having been used, of being raw. It involves a sort of nakedness of mind, and ultimately of soul: a feeling of being reduced to the bedrock of consciousness. In short, it means being undramatically pushed up against the wall of oneself."

Many in my generation can relate to this feeling and it is this feeling that I seek to explore, in myself and in the world around me. We live in a time when people with advanced degrees struggle to make ends meet and yet everywhere I go I find people coming together to work the land, to paint murals, building earthship houses, teaching and learning, loving and growing... There is magic afoot in this world and I am just a small part of it.

I am an artist. My life is my canvass. I want to paint you in.

PHILOSOPHY

I decided in high-school, after a period of teenage existential angst, that my meaning for life is to learn through formal education and experiences out in the world and I wanted to leave a legacy for future generations. Everything I do is to live life as fully present as possible and to contribute toward a positive future for All.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sometimes I ride the wave and sometimes I am the wave.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Amsterdam, Italy, Hawaii, Canada... Everywhere I have traveled I have met such great people and experienced the generosity of strangers. Unscripted travel is one of the greatest journeys in life. It helps us find, and push past, unknown boundaries. My host in Amsterdam helped us sneak into the zoo at night to see the big cats when they are awake. That was one of the coolest law-breaking experiences I ever had.

Interests

Philosophy, yoga, cycling, snorkeling, sailing, paddling, hiking, learning, living life to the fullest and making a difference wherever I go.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm reading "Nature and the Human Soul" by Bill Plotkin. My musical tastes are eclectic and wide ranging. I recently decided to think of myself as a singer and ever since then my voice has opened up. I am also newly reunited with my guitar, which has been in storage on Oahu for three years. Don't worry though. I'm not traveling with her at the moment ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got my skydiving license in Italy. Not sure what that means exactly ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm into teaching people about yoga and sustainability. I want to learn more about sailing, cycling, permaculture, winemaking and beekeeping. I would love to share unique experiences that remind me just how miraculous life really is.
