About Me

I'm a 21 year old engineering student studying in India and I love to travel. I'm an introvert as such but once I meet a new person and encroach upon some common ground, I believe it's almost impossible for me to stop talking then. :D Though an engineer by vocation, I have an avid interest in art and literature and also in anthropology. I absolutely love animals - all and any - sometimes more than humans too! :p I'm not much of a party freak but am quite outgoing and take a deep interest in learning about & experiencing people's culture in their countries. I write and read a lot, and occasionally sketch too. I also love to watch (and critically analyze) films from across continents and languages. I am absolutely low maintenance and not the least bit fussy as a boarder and would be more than happy with a small spot on the couch! :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it is an amazing concept and I just recently came across it and would really like to experience it - both as a host and as a guest. When I traveled in Switzerland and Italy last year on my own, the best parts of my trip were meeting new people from all over the world and talking to them and knowing more about their lives and countries. But I guess it still gets a bit lonely in the hostels, and I would love to be able to live in a more authentic way at someone's home while traveling and bond and share more experiences with people! :) Also, I miss my pet cat a lot while traveling so I believe this is the perfect place to meet awesome pets around the globe as well! :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess it has to be living in Auroville for a month on my own since it was an absolutely wonderful town with many people from Europe and other parts of the world living and residing permanently in the global town. The people there were completely laid back and very spiritual and environment friendly and led a very unorthodox lifestyle. It was an amazing experience to meet Aurovillians and to work there as a part of the service community and to live in a place where nobody uses cars or cash(they have their own internal monetary system!) It is an open community where most resources and skills are shared free of cost and it is somewhat similar to the principles of couchsurfing! :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I write a lot and while I do believe that writing can't be taught as such, I can definitely offer critique or constructive feedback on poetry or prose writing as well as if someone is into doing movie reviews or even making movies/films!

I bake a lot so I can teach how to bake a few yummy desserts.

I can teach how to code (program) a few simple things - if we have enough time! :D

Teach Hindi or Gujarati to anyone with the gumption and patience to learn.

I would love to learn German, French and know more about the local culture. I am open to learning almost anything, though - no harm in knowing something!

I can share my travel experiences and my insight on basic human behaviour/philosophy/psychology. I can share my house to anyone who wants to visit India!

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Indian Food and Snacks if anyone wishes to try the authentic cuisine

- Stories about my travel experiences and Indian culture

- Engaging conversations about almost anything that I know something about

- I can cook extremely basic stuff (all vegetarian though) if you want!

- Help do the dishes

- Write something for you/about you - poetry or maybe in the massive book of travel experiences that I plan to write one day! :D
