Über mich
Technically, I am an introvert. So I am usually a little quiet in the beginning and take some time to open up. But once I do, I am more or less like the next guy you meet with a childlike curiosity and enthusiasm for new things. But every once in a while, you might notice me wander quietly into my own thoughts.
I also enjoy listening to people's stories and experiences more than telling my own. I listen like a child when someone talks about something I have no clue of(which happens quite often ;))
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
To meet. To Learn. To Grow. To sum it up, everyone I met till now was very different from each other and brought with him/her a wide variety of life experiences. Despite that, it was very easy to talk to all of them. I found everyone to be kind, adjusting and open. It feels really good to invite someone into your life and to be a part of someone else's. It's a privilege and I am glad that in such a big community as Couchsurfing people grant this so easily to strangers!
Interessen
For all my interests, I enjoy them and also dabble with them on my own. I enjoy reading a lot. I try my hand in writing short stories, poems etc.
I love movies! I can watch them for hours on end. I can watch the crappiest movies and not get bored. I will still find something interesting. There are just so many elements in cinema that I find it hard to get bored.I have also dabbled in screenwriting, acting, editing of short films in particular. I also had a good year of theatre in University!
I enjoy good food but a little lazy when it comes to cook! But I am learning and getting better!
I also enjoy sketching(portraits). And I am trying to build in me an appreciation for art.
Physics: I have kind of a minor in Cosmology and still like to keep in touch and read something whenever I have the time and the patience.
Musik, Filme und Bücher
Movies: As I said, I can watch anything and I do watch a lot. Of late I recall enjoying The Grand Budapest Hotel, Jagten, Dhobi Ghat/Mumbai Diaries, Stoker, Gravity, Shor in the City etc, Lunch Box etc.
Books: John LeCarre! : The Spy Who Came in From The Cold, A Most Wanted Man, The Constant Gardener, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy(my favourite of all!), A Small town in Germany. Among others, The Namesake, The White Tiger, The Sense of an Ending, The Berlin Wall(Frederick Taylor), Quiet(Susan Cain).
Music: For some reason, I have lost touch with music and follow whatever recommendations my friends pass on. I am of course partial towards Indian Music(not the same as Bollywood Music!). I used to be a big fan of Enigma(Michael Cretu). And although it is slowly dying I still sometimes listen to http://www.thesixtyone.com
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I did a Free Hugs alone in Munich with a GoPro on my head. I was told people would tell me off or would not welcome. But the response I got was great and the footage I gathered was heartwarming. I also included it into a short travel video i made for myself!
