About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a market research analyst by the day, a poet by the evening and a drunkard by the night :p . Jokes apart, I'm into music, art, philosophy and films. These pursuits makes me feel content and fulfilled. By the virtue of being a voracious reader, I can drop in tidbits of facts and trivia all the time and engage you in the most meaningful and deep conversation possible. I assure you, you wouldn't be disappointed.

ABOUT ME
Another generic south Asian male. On a serious note, I'm a voracious reader of nonfiction history. I can quote in tidbits of trivia here and facts there. I'm a wonderful storyteller and average when it comes to making small talk.
Other than interesting my listeners with great stories, I can write wonderful poems both in English and French. I can cook amazing Syrian Catholic Dishes. Syrian Catholicism, unlike Latin Catholicism, is an Eastern Rite of Catholicism and has a 2000-year-old distinct cuisine that is rich in flavour and taste and is known for its use of coconuts, cardamom and black pepper.
I try to dance and sing, I've relatively fewer inhibitions; even though I suck at it both, I always become the life of the party.
I frequent cultural events like film festivals and art galleries and try to gain a worldwide perspective.

PHILOSOPHY
I personally believe that humility is the greatest virtue. An individual who is humble is ready to pay heed to advise of others, is not self-centred, licentious or narcissistic. A humble person can not stop loving others, as he is humble, by the very virtue of it he accepts and loves others as his own brethren. A humble person is self-satisfied and content, he does not greed or get jealous, his wants and needs are frugal. If you've read so far; every passing day I try to be more humble, not that I'm arrogant, rather I'd love to live a frugal yet content life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Wow!!! An interesting question, yet extremely difficult to put into words. In my humble personal opinion, I believe that travel, dialogue and discourse, reading and films respectively in descending order are the greatest medium for contemporary education.
There are individuals; an anecdote, who I've come across who are Ivy League-educated yet, they lack etiquette, basic human courtesy and have total disregard for people around them.
I may get the stick for saying this, chivalry, for instance, is a sign of a gentleman, who is well mannered and knows how to conduct himself, but that's what you should be like, you should be obliged to prioritise others first and always put yourself and your needs at last.
CS gives me an apt platform for intercultural learning, deep meaningful conversations and finally a chance to put my cooking skills to test :p

Interests

As I mentioned, I have a few interests that I actively and religiously pursue. I love heading to the gym and lifting heavy ass weights, I focus on powerlifting. Every year, I head out to film festivals, mainly the International Film Festival of Kerala and the International Film Festival of India.
I also frequent open mics and perform spoken word poetry. I've completed my B1 in French from Alliance Francaise and would like to get to at least the C1 level.
