Hi my name is Devin! I'm currently studying Computer Science and Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

I love learning languages and travelling! I speak bits of many languages but speak best in German, Russian, and English. I love learning about different cultures, even within my own country. But apart from languages, I'm just generally curious about all types of things and love learning new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great idea to meet new people and travel on a budget. It also feels more "real" to stay with a local rather than just in a hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love mostly Jazz, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, and related music. I also play this type of music on guitar when time permits. However, I really listen to so many different things including different types of rock, country, and more. The only thing I don't like is pop. Recently I've been listening to very much Korean R&B and Hip Hop.

As for books, I enjoy philosophy, science, science fiction, horror, etc. I don't get to read very often but when I do that's what I'll read. One of my favorite books is The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching languages to people as well as math and computer science. If you have interests in any of that I'd be glad to teach what I know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy just a good conversation about places we've been or things we've done. I like finding relatable things in the people I talk to. I also enjoy talking about languages and cultures very much.
