About Me

*Currently in NZ*

Hey folks! My name is Devin, just an average guy who is living the life the way it should (daydreaming sometimes, lol)  - well I'm new to CS arena, knew the culture back in 2015 (prolly a bit late i guess, lol) - and I think this whole idea is marvelous, fascinated how it get us all acquainted.

Here's the thing - before you go ahead and read on, know what is my REAL expectation from everyone in general (and so expect you the same making CS a pleasant experience)~

I'm here for only ONE reason, that is to meet fellow CSers from every corner of the earth (not just looking for place to crash, and disappear the next day) ~ no matter how you look (i'm not handsome and charming as heck, but hey I'm blessed with big, good heart), what you have been doing lately (none of my business), where you are from, your race, and any other thing that describe you as a whole person introvert, extrovert, talkative, funny, (you name it) - We all have that trait in life that we can't change, your character, I believe nobody's perfect in their lifetime. As long as you are genuine, not looking things for granted (of course not a creep and a psychopath though, lol), I see no reason for us to click and have a great time.

Honestly I don't prefer to write things about myself here, too much details about oneself prior the meet-up is sort of overkill on curiosity over someone -  A decent profile is certainly good, but know that when you read a strangers profile, you don't have a preconceived judgement about them. People get to know better in person, so lets meet up!

I put every single word into line, line into phrases, to write up this profile along with my expectation, and friendly message to the whole CS community out there.

My personal opinion on being a Couchsurfer~

1. You are a human(lol, just kidding, else how we gonna correspond?), a genuine interest to be friends aside being hosted

2. There is no prejudice against age/gender/racial/sexual preference/languages. Think of yourself as a Global Citizen. We are born with blood and bone that has no difference in any form.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting up new people, knowing the culture, and travel stories from other side of the world is indeed nothing but all fun and a great experience. For this very reason I am here to meet like minded people. I can read almost any Russian word, understand few but can't speak fluently so still learning, would be great if someone can teach.) And in return I can teach languages that I'm fluent.

Interests

I have special interest to scale Volcanoes and all other stuff with outdoor activities like wading thru the jungles, trekking or camping by the river. And I was really brave enough to do some of this stuff all by myself, like my first active volcano hike without guide in Central Java.

Honestly, I do have some limitation, not an expert hiker or an outdoor junkie, but being a risk taker allows me to overcome the fear. It would be certainly great to meet someone with same interest and determination; in another word, an adventurer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I almost watch, listen and read everything online. It's like an entire library on the move.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took the courage to ride scooter that took nearly 2 hours to reach base camp in a small remote village, and ascending one of the most active volcano in the world, Mount Merapi in Central Java, without guide.

Did crazy ride on scooter in whole Saigon HCMC (Vietnam) and went further away from city, and if you know how bad the traffic in HCMC, you will go insane!

Teach, Learn, Share

Welcomes anyone to learn and share travel experiences, languages or even just to make new friends if we cross path
I can cook few Asian foods, blend quite well with spices though don't mistaken me as a Chef, because I am not. Just couple of home cooked dishes, all Asian flavors. Now if your kitchen stocked up with some spices, and wanted to get some taste of your own home cooked Asian food, I am your perfect guest.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories, teach language and cooking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
