About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to absorb and bathe in the beauty and pleasure of every moment of my life.

ABOUT ME

In 2013-14 backpacking and hitchhiking from Mexico to Chile! I am looking forward to meeting lots of musicians and experiencing the love of Latin America :)

My name is Devin and I make music, read and write, play the guitar, sing, listen to music and I love going to an excellent concert. I also really enjoy photography. Really, I'm interested in most creative/artistic forms.

Of course I love traveling. I also love eating great food and I enjoy cooking and learning new recipes.

I really enjoy getting to know people from diverse cultures, and learning about their culture from social, political, culinary and artistic points of view.

I love learning new phrases and words from all languages. I sometimes fantasize about being fluent in ALL LANGUAGES. At least, I make plans about what language to learn next.

I lived and studied in Barcelona, España for one year in 2008-2009. This was one of the best experiences of my life. I became fluent in Spanish and I really fell in love with traveling.

I always love meeting MUSICIANS! Or music lovers/people that encourage me to play my songs out and about.

Hopefully we'll meet soon!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life because I want to soak up and learn about as much as possible and communicate this with others through art.

I want to see the world and speak with the people in their native tongue, learning about what I would never know otherwise.

I draw inspiration from the creative capacity of the human brain

I believe in being compassionate and respectful. I always try to keep a positive mood, because that's when I enjoy myself most.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf couches and I offer my couch to surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed many couches, and hosted surfers with and without the Couchsurfing platform.
I often offer rides on Craigslist and rideshare with others, and I help out my fellow human by offering compassion and conversation.

Interests

Everything.
hahah well maybe not EVERYTHING.

I am interested in living contently. I am living as the creative soul that I long to be.

I write melodies and string them together into songs that can evoke emotions and feelings of sadness, happiness, lust, love, loss, regret, and resolve.

I have fun playing the guitar, writing, reading, photographing, absorbing the world around me and talking with people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cadaqués. Amazing little beach town on the tip of a peninsula in Spain near the French border. White houses run up windy, uneven roads that overlook the Mediterranean. Dalí lived nearby and his house is a museum now.
Sitting in a mediocre hotel in Figueres drinking pouring moscatel into our mouths, laughing and having a great time.

Correfoc in Barcelona. People huddle and dance around people in the street holding fireworks that shower everybody with sparks while giant floats designed as dragons, demons, gargoyles, and pigs roll down the street shooting more sparks.
