About Me
Hello! I'm Devon.
For the last two years I was the nanny for Sam and Stella; a six and eight year old in New York City. Now I am traveling the world for a six months.
I am a writer with a focus on food and travel. Food is one of the easiest ways for people from different cultures to connect and learn from one another and that's what I'd like to do while I travel.
This will be my second time around the world, my first was on a program called Semester at Sea. Until now, I've been to about 35 countries.
Cooking, laughing, drinking and dancing are some of my favorite things to do with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most people are good. The more I meet, the more I like. Also, what better way to learn about a new place than from a local?

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Pop because everyone knows the words so we can all sing together.
Movies: Good comedies. It's the best when you laugh so hard, you cry.
Books: Fiction that teaches me about something real or historical in an interesting way. The Orphan Master's Son, The Alienist,
Books: I love comedy here, too. Have you ever read: Are You There Vodka It's Me Chelsea? Hilarious
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm currently circumnavigating the globe for the second time. I used to work in corporate fashion and then I quit. My life is unconventional, which can be difficult at times, but there are so many rewards. I have chosen to live my life by my heart instead of the rules.
