Originally from Colorado USA, I love mountains and the beach. This year I'm in the US Embassy's English Language Fellowship program, which has brought me to Salatiga Indonesia. I'm working as an English teacher and teacher trainer at IAIN, an Islamic University. I'm a former Peace Corps Volunteer (Uganda 2010-2012), and last year was in Beijing teaching at an international high school.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I first learned about Couch Surfing years ago as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I've been a host and surfer before, but never had my own account. It's about time! My university in Salatiga has provided a HUGE house that is ridiculous for one person. I have guest roomS, and would love to be able to have some company and pay it forward, repaying some of the times I've used couch surfing in the past.

I have several guest rooms. I live and work in a very unique, non touristy city. Salatiga is located in between more well-known tourist destinations like Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surakarta (Solo). If you're looking for an interesting off-the beaten path detour in Central Java, come stay with me in my eclectically Muslim and Christian little college town. Also, we have good hiking trails because we're surrounded by mountains.

Because of cultural rules, I can only host girls or a couple who doesn’t mind pretending to be married! Sorry, but my town is not touristy and quite conservative.
