ABOUT ME

So, My name is Devon Carsen but I perform under the name Red Violet. About a year ago (2010) I gave up a super plush job and lifestyle, gave away all my things, and hit the road. It has been the single most rewarding experience I have ever had. I love people and I get the amazing chance to meet so so many while I'm out here. I am first and foremost a musician but besides that I am a lover of the outdoors and love to explore this world. If you're reading this hopefully I can expect to meet you sometime in the near future and I'm pretty stoked on that. haha. Much Love!

Well shit. The best way to describe this is that I believe in the absolute power of intentionality. Hopefully you can catch my drift but I would love to talk about it with you sometime!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe in leaving beautiful footprints wherever I go. This takes on different incarnations every time. Sometimes painting a house, or building a backyard bungalow, or doing the dishes. It's all relative to what the place needs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not couchsurfed on this site too much but I have certainly occupied many couches of friends and well wishers.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Not a super big movie buff but some of my favorite books are: Jitterbug Perfume, Farenheit 451, 1984, Sci-fi, anything on particle physics, spiritual literature, the Prophet, The Alchemist, The Celestine Prophecy. Also the classics, The Illiad and Odyssey, 1000 Arabian Nights, Picture of Dorian Gray, etc. And also political stuff like Ishmael and 1000 splendid suns.
