Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore new places from a local's perspective, to learn about new cultures, and to hear the stories of new people
ABOUT ME
I am a forester, so I love spending time outdoors staring at big trees. I have traveled quite a bit for work, both with forestry and with a previous job as a teacher. I love getting to know a new place and discovering what is unique about each landscape - from the forests, the food, the art, the architecture, and most importantly, the people.
I am pretty extroverted and love to swap stories - I am totally willing to sacrifice sleep for good conversation.
I prefer cooking at home to dining out, but I splurge when it comes to things like wine and chocolate and sending postcards to my friends.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in love above all else. This means living with respect, kindness, and empathy for others, for ourselves, and for the planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am excited to get to know new people and see their hometown from their perspective. I am participating in Couchsurfing because I believe that travel should be accessible to as many people as possible. Seeing the world and meeting new people opens our eyes and makes us more compassionate, and yet it is often prohibitively expensive. Couchsurfing is working to make travel more affordable, and I fully believe in that mission.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite author: Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power of Now. But if we're talking fiction author, then my favorite would have to be C.S. Lewis, because the Chronicles of Narnia are simply classic. My music taste covers a vast array of genres from classical to country. Too hard to choose just one!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once swam with sea lions in Peru! It was very cold but worth it
Teach, Learn, Share
"One cannot eat well, think well, sleep well, if one has not dined well" - Virginia Woolf
"If we surrendered to earth's intelligence, we would rise up rooted, like trees" - Rainer Maria Rilke
What I Can Share with Hosts
