About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Dancing with myself.
ABOUT ME
I am a fan of Serendipity. She's my homegirl. I like to make people laugh. I often pretend that whatever music is playing wherever I am is my own personal movie soundtrack and then act accordingly. (My imagination is always in high gear and I have my own bungalow in fantasyland.)
I teach at an "alternative" school. (Which translates in public school speak to "the school where they send the bad kids".) I think my kids are great. I get them and they get me. It's fantastic.
When I take off my teacher hat, I spend my time carousing around town with my friends going to see lots of bands, volunteering at the local bicycle collective, poaching swimming pools, general shenanigans which usually start with cooking dinner and end with lots of empty wine bottles and a bunch of laugh-snorting and hugging. I take lots of photographs and forget to develop my film for months. (It's a little game of surprise I play with myself.) I enjoy meeting new and interesting folks and I daydream of lands across the seas constantly.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in trying to understand and accept people just as they are, where they are, with whatever they have with the hope that they are doing the best they can at the time. I believe we can only fear what we don't understand and a little green man once told me, "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering." I'm down with that.
