CURRENT MISSION
saving for travel to Europe
ABOUT ME
I'm an open, thoughtful, kind person that enjoys listening to local music, sipping tea at a coffee house, making dinner and sharing conversation with like-minded people. Even the opposite-minded once in awhile. I'm spiritual, quixotic and work on seeing the good in people and life. I'm fascinated by other cultures, especially those that are exceptionally different from America's. Besides nutrition, supporting local, volunteering and travel are some of my passions. I'd love to learn how to play an instrument. I want to skydive. See Key West. Learn to cook in Italy and France. Wander Ireland. Maybe I've just seen too many movies but I have quite a romantic view of life. I like it. I never want to stop being delighted and seeing life through the eyes of a child. Love local art, belly dance, ballet, tattoos and drum circles. Gardening. Learning. Intelligence is sexy.
PHILOSOPHY
we create our own realities, our thoughts are concrete and we attract what we focus on, whether positive or negative.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to get to know people on a personal basis and get a glimpse into their lives. I love hearing travel stories and looking at your pictures. The house in which I live is a Craftsman-style and was built in 1938 and converted into apartments in the '40s. It's old and quirky. There are no square corners and the kitchen hasn't been updated since the '80s, probably. I love it, though, and I do actually have a couch. The only drawback, really, is that the bathroom is pretty tiny and the floor might actually be the original.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a rookie! After Burning Man I stayed at an international hostel for a few weeks, exchanging cooking and cleaning for a place to stay, which wasn't always a bed. It was so interesting to meet people from all over the world and hear their travel stories. I also met a fellow couchsurfer in 2011. He was from Ontario, he drove a conversion van that didn't have a shower and he was traveling the states. He contacted me a few days before he got to Phoenix and as I didn't have an extra bed or a comfortable couch, he stayed in his van but showered in my apartment, and we cooked several meals together and had some great conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've recently fallen in love with foreign and independent films but I still enjoy the occasional blockbuster. Kind of hooked on Bollywood.
alternative, rock, drum n bass, progressive trance
books on eastern philosophy, anything by terry pratchett, travel books, some chick books
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving birth to my kids, Burning Man, SCUBA dives in Aruba, a trip by myself to LA to see DJ Tiesto, vacations in Oceanside and La Jolla, Jamaica, Montreal, NYC (LOVE!!!), Denali, Tahoe, helping the community.
Teach, Learn, Share
Metaphysics, loving unconditionally, giving of ourselves, observations made from a lifetime of people watching and an adulthood of raising kids. I'm not much of a do it yourself-er and I'd love to learn some hands on stuff.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A couch, coffee, a seat at my kitchen island, food, stories and laughter!
