Two dogs: the Vizsla welcomes everyone enthusiastically, and the Toy Manchester warns 'em off. Good thing he's only 4 kg and doesn't have all his teeth.

Live near beautiful pristine Ottawa river. We can all go boating, except in the autumn, winter, or spring. The world famous Algonquin Park is an easy drive away.

PHILOSOPHY

Do all you can while you can.

We're newbies so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're newbies at this, but this year we're swapping our trailer (caravan) and truck for a house in New Zealand. No, not at the same time.

And we've hosted many people in our house, from a few days to several months. And the several month people were teenagers!

And we've stayed in lots of peoples' houses, especially in the UK and the Netherlands. Most of the people are still alive, and are friends still.

Interests

Hey, we're not going to tell you _all_ our interests. But as for Dennis: classical music, current affairs, history, computing, boys' toys. And, obviously, travel of all kinds.
Clasina is into food and wine, cooking and tasting. She shares Dennis' love of music and current affairs, and enjoys boys' toys (like computers) if they enhance her social life. Since retiring, my re-found hobby is sewing! When I travel, I love visiting markets and food stores. Some find this a very strange pastime!

Music, Movies, and Books

Often decide to watch movies, but never seem to get around to it much. We're retired, you know. We have nothing we _have_ to do, we have all day to do it, and we still don't get it done.

Mostly classical music. But if you like heavy metal, not a problem, we can lend you headphones.

Our house is crowded with books of all kinds. Only a few have never been read. Quite a few have been forgotten. All are a bit dusty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have been to Eastern Europe in communist times.
And for two years, we lived and worked on a very small island in the Caribbean. What a wonderful, exotic learning experience!
Clasina has had the opportunity to visit India twice, with a friend who grew up in India. What an amazing experience! The BEST was taking the night sleeper train, and eating a thali, en route, with our hands!

Teach, Learn, Share

CouchSurfing University will be good for us as long as there are no tests, exams, or papers to hand in.

Seriously, there are very few people we couldn't learn from.
