Hi, I'm Dan! Right now I'm living in Washington, DC, doing research in psychology and neuroscience. I studied Psychology in school and I love reading/talking about almost any topic. I'm interested in pretty much everything and I love hearing about what interests others too! I lived in Spain last year which is why there's a bunch of Spanish on my profile..

¡Hola, soy Dan! Soy Americano, pero ahora vivo en Granada- soy maestro de Inglés en una escuela primaria. Estudié la psicología en la universidad, y me encanta hablar y leer de cualquier tema. Me interesa casi todo, y me encanta hablar con otra gente de que le interese. Cuando estoy en España, quiero conocer a tanta gente que pueda y ver cosas que no he visto nunca.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Montreal and had a great experience- my hosts were super friendly and incredibly generous, and made us all feel welcome in their home/city.

Hice couchsurfing en Montreal, con amigos, y tuvimos una experiencia genial. Los anfitriones eran muy amables y generosos, y nos acogieron a su ciudad.

Let's see... books, music, food, clouds, photography, movies, walking in parks, hiking, trains, maps, drawing (poorly), karaoke (singing poorly), trying to learn things, tai chi, science, history, frisbee, philosophy, sci-fi, brains, tea, blueberries, crosswords, other things, everything not in this list, recursion, paradoxes, sleeping, eating, dreaming, writing letters, other stuff too. lotsa stuff.

Eh.... me interesan muchas cosas... libros, música, comida, nubes, fotografía, el cine, dando paseos en parques, senderismo, trenes, mapas, dibujar, bailar, karaoke, tai chi, historia, filosofía, ciencia ficción, etc etc etc. (no quiero traducir todo...)

Musica, film e libri

I like a lot of movies... some of my favorites are Paris Texas, Tokyo Sonata, Chungking Express, Mind Game, After Life, Me and You and Everyone We Know, The Tree of Life, Vertigo... I love David Lynch, Wong Kar-wai, Koreeda Hirokazu, Kim Ki-duk, The Coen Brothers, Terrence Malick, etc etc etc etc

Much musics too. not sure where to start

And books. My favorite authors are Virginia Woolf, David Foster Wallace, Aldous Huxley, Haruki Murakami, I like some non-fictiony stuff too, like Douglas Hofstadter, Alan Watts, Joseph Campbell, Douglas Harding, Terrence McKenna, etc etc etc etc etc. I also am really into A Song of Ice and Fire (let's discuss theories?)

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Once I got trapped in the gardens at Versailles for several hours during a torrential rainstorm! Turns out it is ridiculously easy to not only get in but also to get locked in after hours.

I can help people get better at crosswords. Or at saying words backwards. I'd like to learn how to draw better.
