About Me

CURRENT MISSION

staying warm

ABOUT ME

I like building up a cool musical library, reading in Spanish, sharing stories songs and making new friends. Spend time at the local free hot springs, or on mountain. Have traveled many countries and brought up my children to teen years. Just getting back into hosting.
PHILOSOPHY

Humanitarianism and community building. We have to care for the "other" and be willing to take in "the stranger". I feel a website like this helps build trust and foster meaningful connections to make lasting memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I open space in my home on certain nights of the week when children are not present. Like guests who treat it like their own home and clean up, make the bed, wash sheets or help. Introduce me to your culinary or cultural traditions, have an exchange of ideas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had good hosting of characters on unique voyages in summer in Moab . Then when I was in Mallorca in '09 it was because of couchsurfing connections that I found an unbelievable room to stay in right by my campus and the beach. We had concert outings and adventure hikes along with weekly social table meetings in Palma. Other than that, Madrid hosts were so touching and welcoming to their community. We had a great time.

Interests

I'm interested in chopping wood and saunas in the fall and winter... playing in the band, windsurfing and building villas in the tropics in the warmer months. I plan to be leading and teaching a group of teenagers to go down to Costa Rica for Spanish immersion classes. I interpret for Spanish and tour groups, I'm driven to see excellent shows and museums and take in the world's beautiful sights and sounds. I live in a well plugged in mountain city, Ogden, Utah.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Impossible Germany" by Wilco... "Trouble" by Cat Stevens. Goose, the whole catalogue. "Dogs in a Pile" and Grateful Dead music.
I read usually about history, the holocaust, biblical texts, and religious movements.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stared over the edge of a 150 to 200 foot drop at the rocky end of a snow-filled chute on Mount Ogden deadliest side. I was tele skiing and got "cliffed out." I managed to climb out of the chute, knowing that one lost footing or slip would probably end my life. It took everything I had to fight my way out of that danger. I came out so much more grateful for my life and the gift that it is to others. Ready to make a new start and do anything I'm called to do. To live making better decisions every time.

Teach, Learn, Share

We have to understand what's driving protesters, peace-seekers, and the confrontation with i.C.E. and how to overcome these differences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do a local beer tour of breweries or recommend hiking trails to waterfalls or hot springs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, South Korea, Spain, United States
