Mr. Dhaval Vargiya is a wildlife photographer of Gujarat based at Porbandar. He is an Ex-Science communicator of Science Express Biodiversity Special (SEBS) 2012, a collaborative project of Department of Science & Technology and Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate change, Government of India and managed by Vikram A. Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC)- Ahmedabad. Through SEBS, He has travelled in more than 22 states of the country to spread the message of Biodiversity Conservation with his camera to capture the magnificent natural heritage of India.

He is currently a Research Scholar of R K University, Gujarat. He has worked with Shree Sahajanand Swami District Community Science Centre (SSDCSC)- Porbandar as Science Co-ordinator which is recognised by Gujarat Council On Science & Technology (GUJCOST), Government of Gujarat. Through SSDCSC, he arranged more than 100 programs ranging from Birdwatching, Wildlife photography, Days celebration, Seminar, Conference, Workshops, Nature education camps, Exhibition, games and many more. He has designed and developed the Bird identification fieldguide, which includes 48 common birds. This guide is very important during birding with kids. He has also developed the field guide of Snakes of Saurashtra. He has contributed to the conceptualization, photography, analysis and design of the coffee table books named “Birds of Gosa Bara” and “Birds of Porbandar”. The former one was presented as souvenir to Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat and other dignitaries during their visit on 2nd October 2014 i.e. Gandhi Jayanti by Porbandar Forest Division- Porbandar. He has also developed “Waterbirds of Porbandar”-a beautiful laminated fieldguide of 48 common waterbirds for Porbandar Forest Division recently.
Mr. Dhaval Varagiya is also certified and trained Eco-tourism Guide by Gujarat Tourism and Forest Department. He renders his services to the Green Wildlife Conservation Society, Porbandar as an Administrator. As a resource person, he regularly visits Gir Learning Centre, Wildlife Division, Sasan-Gir where, he talks about Biodiversity with different angles, importance of birds, animals, flora and insects with examples and photographic presentation.
He is also founder-president of Mokarsagar Wetland Conservation Committee, a registered NGO based at Porbandar working for Mokarsagar Wetland complex which awaits recognition.
