Hi there! Welcome to CouchSurfing!

My name is Dheeraj. I've been a member since 2012, but didn't use it now I am living in Switzerland, so I can fulfil the dream of my travelling and sign in again and come to love this remarkable non-profit, primarily volunteer-run service. I've found that CouchSurfing is a fantastic way to meet people and make lasting connections, explore other cultures and communities, discover things you never would on your own, learn about life, enjoy the comfort and security of a safe and friendly place to sleep at night, and travel on a budget!

I am new to this "CouchSurfing" world, not officially, so I'll let you in on a few pointers:
While CouchSurfing is free, and I should never pay to stay with anyone on CouchSurfing - it is not meant to be taken advantage of either. Hosts frown on guests who just use them as a free hostel, and it's always a good idea for visitors to at least sincerely offer to pay for their own food, or failing that, pay for part of the food and offer to do the cooking or cleaning up. I treat my host and/or guests with respect, and I'll both have a better experience in coming a time, and with CouchSurfing down the road!
