About Me
Hey! I'm Dhruv and I'm a student from Australia whose current life goal is to have as many new experiences as possible before graduating. While I don't really know what I want to do with my life yet, I do know that I want to meet as many new people with different perspectives and walks of life as possible. So far I've been to 27 countries and fallen in love with almost every single one of them for different reasons.
I'm incredibly passionate about learning new things - whether its something I’m already passionate about like cricket or completely alien to me like quantum physics (why not). In return I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about Australia (Yes, it's really hot and yes, there are plenty of spiders) or any of the destinations I've been to.
Whilst it's never easy to describe yourself in a few paragraphs, I thought I'd include a bucket list just to give a bit more insight into my personality:
-Climb Mt Kilimanjaro
-learn to speak another language fluently
-Do a safari in Africa
-Watch grizzly bears in Yellow Stone National Park (from the safety of a bulletproof vehicle)
-Drive a Formula 1 Car
-Do a handstand for 30 seconds
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd never really considered couchsurfing until I recently met a fellow surfer when trying to catch the Northern Lights at Kiruna Airport in Swedish Lapland. He offered me a ride to Abisko (100km away) from the airport since it was on his way home. The car ride was filled with interesting conversations about skydiving, politics, the environment and our incredibly different lives. Clearly the couchsurfing community was full of interesting people who, just like me, are down to meet new people, have a good conversation, a couple of laughs and a few drinks.
