About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live Simple radical lifestyle, very much a mega-downsizer, sorta modern hippie but jumps in and out of the matrix.Walk around da Planet to inspire other Diabetics/non-Diabetics to dream big. Motto: Just because i have Diabetes doesnt mean Diabetes has me!

ABOUT ME

Wow...uhhh, i have been on a 10 year journey really of downsizing. I was born and raised in Miami, drove a 1979 Chevy Station wagon decorated like a giant american flag to 49 of the 50 states and hiked the 2,000 mile Appalachian trail and now have currently begun my world walk on jan 4th, 2004 in Key West and (now 2,900 miles later) am currently in Gallup, New Mexico heading to the Arizona border. I'm a tour guide 6 months of the year, handling the cities of New York, Boston and DC for big tour co. and work in the fall teaching at Natures Classroom, plus i am a professional organizer...the rest can be learned at www.planetcesar.com

PHILOSOPHY

A light footprint gives way for true peace and clarity. hike, work, live SMARTER not HARDER! I own no car, no house, no stuff. Less is More. That does not mean i dont live well. I sorta am spoiled in luxury too along the way, it is possible. I like to step in and out of the matrix, so i'm not ultra radical or against the machine, but do not get sucked in by it either.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i do connect alot of people to new members who have little references and need an introduction, plus i like to spread the word bout CS

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

lots of couch surfing experience since i lived in LA and have been travelling for years now, actually have travelled with SERVAS which is another type of couch surfing that has been around since WWII. also member of globalfreeloaders and have extensive contacts from previous travel to each of the 50 states. Will sleep on couch as well as floor, bed as well as bed of nails....er, uh, well maybe not bed of nails but point is, anywhere. Actually slept on a couch outside of a thrift shop once on U.S.1 as i walked passed Melbourne, FL since it was 3am and i had already walked like 20 miles that day. I awoke next day to a customer saying "they sure did work this guy to death!"

Interests

Walking everywhere. History. Travel. Living light on my feet and upon the land. Meeting great out of the box thinking people. Dancing (hip hop my favorite, but love everything else, salsa, rock, new age, techno, weird stuff too. Traveling by foot. Yes, seeing the world one step at a time. Burning man and creative creative projects

Music, Movies, and Books

Waiting for Guffman. All music. The paradox of Choice, Why more is less! by Barry swartz, Blink by malcom Gladwell, too many more to mention all, but basically books that open your minds to the bigger picture in life. Lost in tRanslation, Lucia Lucia (mexican movie - go and rent it) just love movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i was honored to be able to have the opportunity to be given permission to stand on top of george washington's head at mt. rushmore while being filmed by a Travel Channel film crew from australia, so its all on tape, so yes i have proof! worked as marketing director for such odd projects like www.big-horn.com and the los angeles filmmakers cooperative etc. see www.lafco.tv and each year i lead about 3,000 students on tours to DC, New York, Boston and Philly as the lead guide for www.goeft.com also hiked the Appalachian Trail with a 12 lb miniature Schnauzer named trudy the Trail Terrier. Walked across the 7 mile bridge in the Florida keys thru 20 mph wind gusts! Released a Florida panther into the Everglades. Gone from king of all couch potatoes to ultra light long distance walker/hiker. Got up just this morning and pinched myself, just to see if it was all a dream....NOPE, i really am living my dreams. Everyday an adventure. Each day, get to meet more new friends.
