About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Saving the world one Islamophob at a time
ABOUT ME
For the last year I have focused my energies on learning the nature of today's wave of Islamophobia in the U.S. I grew up in a traditional Muslim household that has evolved into a very progression version of Islam that I am proud of my family for. However, it is important to note that I actually do not practice in the faith I was raised within - I'm actually an Athiest myself. I identify with Muslims because I still respect what their believe in, as I do ALL faiths. The reason for my focus is because I feel as if I have an advantage in the world to be able to give voice to the voiceless, particularly Muslim-women around the world. Just because I do not believe the same as they do, does not mean I do not believe in their right to believe... or something.
I also love sports, especially Detroit sports, cats and lots of other things.
PHILOSOPHY
"You may tie my hands with chains and my feet with shackles, and put me in the dark prison, but you shall not enslave my thinking, for it is free, like the breeze in the spacious sky." -Khalil Gibran

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think my life has been amazing thus far, though my adventures have been limited. My mother was born in Africa, my father was born in Lebanon, my brothers and I were born in Australia, but we have all spent the last 20 years living in America.
Teach, Learn, Share
Everything that I believe is based on pieces of information gathered from the people, places, things, readings, viewings, etc. that I've come across. And this is okay. We are all based on shared thoughts and ideas collected from one another and just need to learn how to be accepting of all identities developed from them despite what differences in the resulting person there may be.
