About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning is more or less easy, but understanding is what I try to do

ABOUT ME

Nature lover and many of things that come with it. Cooking aficionada, eager dancer, writer wannabee, etc, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

If you eat only the same kinds of foods, chances are you'll become sick. If you plant only one kind of crop, the soil will loose its fertility and eventually die. If you occupy your mind with a single or one too few thoughts, chances are you'll go nuts. Diversity is a universal law. You can see it manifested everywhere in nature. The message is clear, yet we insist on monocultivating our lives. Maybe once we understand the importance of diversity we will start tolerating and why not, appreciating the uniqueness of each, well, individual.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name here. I love dancing so I enjoy all types of rhythms to dance to. While at home I pretty much listen to music all the time. Probably the only kind of music I don't like is regetón.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok, there is a treasure basically everywhere, if you look well, but here are some things that jump to my mind: fluorescent algae in the moon-lit sea of Socotra, my home for some months; a Loggerhead turtle laying its eggs on the beach (also on Socotra); people who smile when they dance (lost track of the times and places where I've seen this, but it doesn't happen as often as it should); people chatting and then laughing till they almost cry in a language I understand no word of, and then, contaged, starting to laugh till I almost cry myself; uff, I could go on and on...

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and would share the joy -and my knowledge- with anyone, any time. Always willing to exchange (or initiate anyone in the art of) macrame. I can teach you how to identify the most common tropical plant families. Always eager to learn something new, so bring it on.
