Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

"Unofficially" couchsurfed w/ a friend in Copenhagen a few times because I lived so far from the city & didn't want to deal with commutes when going out on weekends. He told me about his experiences w/ CS & hosted several people in his apartment. Didn't look into it but ... a few years later I thought I'd give it a try on a Japan trip. I've had both fantastic and interesting experiences so far.

Especially for solo travelers, I think it's a great way to meet local people and learn a lot of things you might not otherwise.

Learning how to snowboard (& falling on my ass the 1st day & having to be dragged out by my friends sore arm, legs, and all for Day 2 ... ended up being fantastic! Perseverance is indeed a virtue.)
