About Me

Currently studying abroad in Rabat, Morocco! Not able to host anyone through the end of May 2018.
~~~
Hey there, I'm Diana! I grew up in beautiful Northern California and now study in Washington, D.C. Always looking for new adventures, forever curious, and endlessly excited to see what the world has to offer
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Exposure to diverse cultural experiences & learning a little bit more about people across the globe. I'm hoping to truly meet people who live in the places I travel to.
Interests
Reading. Painting. Drawing. Hiking. Eating. Exploring. History.
I love spending time in nature and seeing fantastic natural sites. I also enjoy visiting art museums and historical sites. I'm a total foodie, so I will eat almost anything you share with me (the exception being spicy food –– I'm working on it, promise). You'll find me passing my days exploring hidden gems and painting/sketching my favorite spots.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Hard for me to describe, mostly because its so transitory. Recent favorites include Bishop Briggs, Portugal. The Man, Rainbow Kitten Surprise
Movies: V for Vendetta, Palmeras en la Nieve, Rogue One, all Miyazaki films (with an extra special shoutout to Princess Mononoke)
Books: All the Light We Cannot See, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Awakening, Beneath a Scarlet Sky, Beyond the Sky and the Earth, Le Petit Prince, Brave New World, Pride and Prejudice
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
An oldie, but my classic go-to: Herded goats in the Gobi Desert
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to help anyone get some English practice in, always looking to improve my French, and I love learning the basics of a new language! I'm not the greatest cook, but I can make a fantastic apple pie, mac n cheese, and a bunch of salmon x pasta dishes. I love learning new recipes, especially traditional, cultural ones.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Willing to sketch you if you stay very, very still (and want a sketch!) No promises it'll look exactly like you, but portraits are one of my favorites and I'll try my best
+lots of stories (ask me about any of the places I've visited and it'll be hard for you to shut me up)!
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom
