Overview
About Me
I am originally from Scotland, but I’ve been living in NZ since I was about ten, so although I go to Europe fairly often I consider NZ my real home. I am a chef and I run my own little restaurant specialized in seafood. I love my job and I enjoy cooking and working on new dishes a lot. In my free time I like hiking, biking (both motorbike and bicycle) and snowboarding. I have three dogs; a German shepherd, an Irish setter and a Labrador and I love going on long walks and hikes with them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve used Couchurfing when traveling in Asia some years ago with a friend who had a profile and I loved it! I like traveling, but honestly I don’t always have the time or money to do so, so in this way I’d like to meet travellers coming to Christchurch. Also, I’m really bad at languages and since I’ve seen that most couchsurfers speak English I think this could be an easier way for me to get to know local people when I’m traveling to a non-English speaking country.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like classic rock and punk, like Ramones, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, PJ Harvey or Joan Jett. I also sometimes listen to Ska or Reggae, but really I don’t mind any kind of music, as long as it’s not pop or similar commercial rubbish. :)
I don’t have much time for reading, but when I do, I like classics like Hesse, Hemmingway, Garcia Marquez, Cortzar, Kerouac, Jack London an so on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing the Great Ocean Road in Australia on a bike.
