About Me

I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO HOST FOR AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME. I AM MOVING OUT OF ARIZONA.

I am a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. Been in practice for 13 years. I love my work and get great joy watching people get better.

I have 2 beautiful adopted daughters ages 28and 44. The eldest came into my life when she was 13 and the youngest I was there for her birth. They have been my greatest teachers, bringing me both pain and joy. I have learned so much from them about who I am. We had gone through many trials, but came out as good friends (we even got matching tattoos). I love my girls greatly, but I am ready to live my life for me now that they are grown.

I consider myself a spiritual being, but not religious. I believe that my thoughts create my reality, to always try to live in a place of love and that the universe always provides.

I have never done drugs including smoking cigarettes or Marijuana. Don't drink either, although I am not opposed to being with social drinkers, I will sometimes try a friends drink, but for me I just do not like the taste of alcohol, so that always has made me a designated driver.... I have always been able to enjoy myself without the need for any of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found out about couch surfing and thought it would be a great way to get to meet new people and to continue to give to the world. Helping people is something I have always done and this is just another way to do so with the added perk of getting some help back while learning about others and creating new friendships all over the world and country.

Interests

I love to dance (even though I haven't been able to get to a club in years, so I dance in my home and recently started contra dancing).

I am just starting to get to know what I like to do again. Being a single parent all my stuff was about my kids, so I am continuously learning about my likes and interests.

I enjoy theater and operas, concerts, and even enjoy going to a live hockey, basketball or baseball game.

I like to try new things, but I also enjoy simple things like movies(although I cannot handle too much violence, gore or horror, including suspense that can be a reality. I love comedies, musicals and feel good movies as well as some documentaries) bowling, card and board games.

I love being out in nature and hiking and camping. I am the person who actually stops to smell the flowers. Nature revives me.

And I am somewhat addicted to chai, so coffee (or tea) with new people and friends is always enjoyable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a variety of tastes in music. I love Prince, En Vogue, Irish dance music, oldies, big band, pagan music, opera, classical, New Age, meditation, and even the modern music like Meghan Trainer, Taylor Swift, Rhianna, etc.., The top 40 stuff, If I can dance to it I will most likely enjoy it. I can tolerate techno, but it bores me after a little while, but I cannot handle Heavy metal or music that feels violent in nature. When exposed to that type of music, I feel like every molecule in my body is chaotic and it is too much for me.

My favorite movies are generally musicals. Love Hairspray, Grease, Dirty Dancing and yes I am not ashamed to admit, I love Xanadu... Pride and Prejudice is one I watch repeatedly and really enjoy Lord of the dance as well as anything about card playing such as Maverick.

I enjoy spiritual reads as well as stories about people accomplishing things in their life. I enjoyed the teen books as well such as the Harry Potter and Twilight series. One of my favorite books is Eat, Pray, Love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raise my daughters. I have a hard time answering this one because I have spent a lot of my life doing that and I can say I am proud of the beautiful souls I have in my daughters and hope that I played a small part in that.

I try to help people whenever I can. I had a friend call me in the middle of the night once when she somehow got wind of a girl who had just been hurt and asked me to go to her. So I did and spent time with her, let her stay with us and helped her out. I find doing these things to be amazing.

I took a road trip with my ex husband from Alaska to NY via Canada. We took a ferry from Ak to Canada and My husband had to drag me off the bow. The feeling of being there and the sense of freedom was blissful for me. Got to see whales which was pretty awesome, during that journey and with my eldest daughter when she was 15. I also got to swim with dolphins with my youngest when she was 17.

I guess that is more than one, sometimes you don't remember the amazing things you have done until asked. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Gosh, they really make you think here...LOL

I taught students at the acupuncture college here in Tucson, but beyond that I believe we can learn from every person we meet and that each person we encounter is a teacher.

I am an open person and willing to share my life story and enjoy learning others' life stories.

I love learning new things and would enjoy teaching others about my amazing field of medicine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love of life as well as knowledge of Chinese medicine, nutrition and spiritual way of life.

I have an open heart and truly try to be loving and respectful.
