Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Let me tell you why I joined Couchsurfing. I met a friend from Poland who shared his story of staying in Germany for FREE! I was so interested and started looking for information at that time. I joined CS a long time ago, precisely when I was in high school. My first experience with CS was in 2014. My best friend and I embarked on our first backpacking trip to Singapore and Malaysia. It was incredibly fun and adventurous since we went there after our High School National Exams. Hahah...
After that, I had lovely experiences with CS. I was hosted by wonderful people who showed me great kindness and expanded my perspective. Since I enjoy meeting people from various backgrounds, I have also hosted people from around the world and Indonesia. What I gain from them are inspiring stories! I think it's really beautiful and unique to meet people and hear their incredible stories that can inspire me to travel more. As I traveled more through CS, I came to understand better that one of the purposes of traveling is to meet new people, share ideas, exchange perspectives, and create opportunities for something positive. Through CS, I aimed to expand my network with as many people as possible, regardless of their religion, sexual orientation, gender, race, and ethnicity.
Current misison:
Travelling with purpose and being an ambassador from Indonesia :)
*Keep inspiring and YOLO!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The amazing things that I've done and seen are ALL the things I've experienced in my life. Everything in my life will become a great experience and a valuable lesson for me :) But if you insist on asking me which experience is the most memorable, well, let me put them on this list:
- Went to Europe (Prague) for the first time in 2012 to participate in a choir competition. My high school choir had the opportunity to showcase Indonesian traditional songs to the world through folklore singing.
- Went to Germany (Bielefeld) in 2014 for Sommerkurs.
- Traveled to the US (Philadelphia, NYC, Grand Canyon, DC) in 2015 to participate in a program called the Young Southeast Asian Leadership Initiative (YSEALI), focusing on religious pluralism and democracy.
- Participated in a pride event for the first time in Europe in 2023.
- And now, I'm living my dream, pursuing a master's degree in Sweden and traveling to several countries in Europe! :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning: Swedish and German
Sharing: Indonesian culture and tips and tricks to Indonesia
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am pleased to share my perspective on Indonesian culture and my experience as a moderate Muslim living in Europe. Moreover, I would say I am a good listener and am always eager to hear my host's stories and opinions. Whenever we engage in dialogue, I am keen on participating without turning it into a debate. I understand that debate and dialogue are not the same. You and I might not always agree, but I believe we can strive to understand each other. In the end, this can broaden our horizons and help us become more open-minded and tolerant individuals :)
