ABOUT ME

International development & economics researcher, originally from California. Work takes me everywhere - just the way I like it - so I've lived in China, India, Sierra Leone, Indonesia, and Myanmar, and couch surfed or camped everywhere in between.

I love spicy food.
I'll try anything twice.
I'd rather dance with you than talk with your.

PHILOSOPHY

Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction. I don't really participate: my couch does all the work

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have couchsurfed across America, South America, China, West and East Africa, India, Nepal, and SE Asia. My house *was* the most popular couchsurfing destination in Central California once upon a time, and we made every surfer make us a drawing or a painting. The resulting collection should be in the Louvre.

I love reading -- the kindle has changed my life -- and music. I say yes to every music festival I've ever encountered. As a Californian, I'm biased, but I'm a five-time Coachella veteran and it is my favorite.
