About Me

I'm from Chile. Yes, in the end of the world. But after all, is a great country, has the most beautiful landscapes (a lot of different types) and I learned a lot of things back there. I turned in a kind of entrepreneur when I was in college. I tried to built some companies but I fail two times. My third try was an app called Bycler, it was a collaborative platform for cyclist, so they were able to share information about their cities. With that app I raised some money and we were able to build that. After that I realised that in my hometown (Concepción, 300 miles to the south of the capital) entrepreneurial ecosystem wasn't the same good as in Santiago (the capital), so I funded The Hack Way (www.thehackway.com). We want to promote the entrepreneurial culture in my home town, because I believe that we have a lot of potential, is a great city (You really should go sometime.). So, that's why I'm traveling now, looking for entrepreneurial ecosystems and trying to lean something of them, so I can bring the good practices back to my home town and we can build something great, #MadeInConce.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because like I told you in the about answer of before, now I'm in a travel looking for entrepreneurial ecosystem around California and Colorado and trying to learn something about their cultures. So, I'm in Couchsurfing, because is always better know the local people when you're traveling, is the best way to really know a new place and their culture. Also it would be awesome if I can save some bugs, because the cities here are so expensive :)

Interests

I'm a very curious person, I'm always interested in everything new or things that I don't know. I think the world is fantastic and I would like to know it all and the thinks that are going on it too. Also I like music, sports, hangout with friends, meet new people, parties, travel, read, movies, family time, among others.

- Books: Freakonomics by Steven Levitt, Startup Communities by Brad Feld, Lean Startup by Eric Ries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made the first Hackathon* in my home town (Concepción, Chile). It was great, everybody left the building happy with a smile in their faces, with a product in their hands for first time in their lifes. People there started to believe in their self that day, that they can actually do something amazing. It was a great feeling for me too. I leave you the Video of what happened in those 24 hours.

* Hackathon is a tech competition, when designers, software developers and business man form teams and work together for 24 hours. They start with an idea and work on it, with help of mentors, to finally get a product of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to teach everything I know (that's the idea of The Hack Way too). And I can share my knowledge in business models, product development and marketing strategy. And I would love to learn everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cook abilities (I'll put my bigger effort on that meal). I can share some funny histories and anecdotes of life. I can show you about my country and South America culture and I can share a good and interesting talk on every subject. Also, I am a good cleaner :)
